"But, really, why does anyone create? You feel a... a restlessness inside, a need to make something new, something no one has ever seen before. You want to add to the beauty and the richness of the world with a gift, an offering that is uniquely yours. It's an act of selfishness and generosity, all rolled into one."

Coming Along

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I wanted to wait till I had done all the motifs, and then I figured I might as well do all the small ones around the outside, too. The small motifs didn't take long to tat, obviously-- they barely qualify as motifs-- but they sure made for a lot of ends to hide.

Now I just have to get through three rounds of edging. The first round looks like it should be pretty mindless work, so hopefully it will go quickly. This doesn't mean I'm not having fun. I've really enjoyed making this doily so far. It's just that edgings aren't my favorite thing to tat.

  4. So pretty! The tiny motifs really look nice, but I imagine the hiding of ends seemed to take forever!
